Al-Ankabut \r\n (The Spider) Commentary: \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n The Quran is the miracle of the Prophet (Peace be \r\n upon him). He was given this miracle as the ultimate proof of his \r\n prophethood. \r\nEvery Prophet Was Given \r\n Miracles \r\nThe Prophet also alluded to the status of the Quran \r\n when he said, “There has not been \r\n a single prophet except that Allah gave him miracles because of which \r\n people believed him. I have been given (as my miracle) the Inspiration \r\n (i.e. the Qur’an) which Allah revealed to me.” \r\nQuran: A Permanent Miracle \r\nThere are many narrations regarding other miracles \r\n of the Prophet. But all of these miracles \r\n were constrained by the time and place of the miracle. \r\n These miracles of a surety occurred, but the effect that these miracles \r\n had on those who saw them is much greater than the impact that it \r\n will have on later generations who merely read about them. The Quran, \r\n on the other hand, is a permanent miracle \r\n for all generations after the Prophet to see(read) \r\n and appreciate, no matter where they live, or what time frame they \r\n are born in. It would never gets out-dated. \r\nMiracle of the Quran \r\nTo describe the effect it has on those who understand \r\n it, one may narrate the story of al-Waleed ibn al-Mugheerah, a highly \r\n esteemed poet of Makkah at the time of the Prophet. He once passed \r\n by the Prophet and heard him reciting the Qur’an. Thereafter \r\n he had the following to say to his nephew Aboo Jahl (one of the worst \r\n enemies of Islam). \r\n“And what can I say? For I swear \r\n by Allah, there is none amongst you who know poetry as well as I do, \r\n nor can any compete with me in composition or rhetoric – not \r\n even in the poetry of Jinns! And yet, I swear by Allah, Muhammad’s \r\n speech (meaning the Qur’an) does not bear similarity to anything \r\n I know, and what he recites is very sweet, and is adorned with beauty \r\n and charm. Its first part is fruitful and its last part is abundant \r\n (i.e. it is full of deep meanings), and it conquers (all other speech) \r\n and it remains unconquered! Taking \r\n Care of Females \r\nIf it was not for the commands of Allah, stated in the \r\n Qur’an, and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah \r\n be upon him), women would not have been given the preference over men. \r\n Allah's Prophet was reported as saying: “Be \r\n fair and just in terms of the gifts you offer your children. If I was \r\n to give preference to any (gender over the other) I would have preferred \r\n females over males (in terms of gifts).”[Bayhaqi] \r\n \r\nMoreover, Allah's Prophet concentrated throughout his \r\n teachings on giving more care and attention to females in general over \r\n the male. Females must be treated with kindness, respect, honour, dignity, \r\n integrity and their needs must be looked after. Allah's Prophet said: \r\n “He whosoever has three daughters, \r\n or three sisters, or two daughters or two sisters, and is very kind to \r\n them, demonstrating nice company to them and fears Allah in their treatment, \r\n will enter Paradise (as a result of his good actions to these females).” \r\n [Abu Dawood & Tirmidhi] \r\nIslamic laws and teachings mandate that parents raise \r\n their children in the best manners and offer them a sound, beneficial \r\n and healthy education. This \r\n is the conclusion of the series from the book "Building \r\n a New Society" \r\nIslamic World-View \r\nThe underlying \r\n reason for the current unfortunate state of affairs is that humanity has \r\n adopted extreme world views (materialism or similar ideologies \r\n on the one extreme, or pseudo-spiritualistic and monastic tendencies on \r\n the other), and the ideologies emerging from them, but which are not compatible \r\n with our human nature. \r\nIslam teaches that human beings did not \r\n come to the world through accident, but through design. The world is an \r\n opportunity and a trial; humans, therefore, \r\n have a purpose and responsibility. \r\nIslam advocates \r\n balance and integration between the spiritual and material, \r\n individualism and collectivism, and between rights, duties and responsibilities. \r\n Humans are made out of a body and soul, and both of these require nourishment \r\n in order to bring about peace and tranquility in human personality. Spiritual \r\n upliftment is not possible by discarding the body and our material needs. \r\n In fact, effective spiritual development according to Islamic guidance \r\n should generate a force for positive social change.
